Seiscir Park Naas

This project was submitted as the design element of the Masters in Landscape Architecture at UCD in 2007.  The project arose from Naas Town Council identifying a site and asking the Masters in Landscape Architecture Students for design proposals regarding the development of the existing site.

This project looked to harmonise the treatment of wastewater with current demands for recreational space within a residential development.  The value of the wastewater was emphasised as the design driver and used to guide the arrangement and layout of the residential units.

This is a project rooted in placemaking. In this new landscape the marks of our habitation are not a hidden object removed from sight, but are utilised to sustain new habitats whose survival is sustained symbiotically through the decomposition of our waste nutrients. Waste = Food.
