Teagasc – Landscape Design

The landscape design for this roundabout was conceived as a means of connecting the scientific and research activities of the client, Teagasc with the Public Facade. A series of cows walking through a stylised meadow evoke the modest origins of the clients research facilities. These cows appear on the roundabout and also appear at the entrance to the new Paddy O Keeffe Innovation Centre, within the Institute.

Artist Lynn Kircham was brought on board to develop the sculptures from bog oak and galvanised steel. Her sculptures float above a highly stylised meadow of Stipa Arundinacea grasses with ornamental perennials drifting between. The large flat open space allowed for bold splashes of colour to appear during the summer growing season.
