Cathal O’Meara Landscape Architects recently worked with the NRA and Cork County Council to develop a Streetscape Masterplan for the village of Killeagh in County Cork.

This proposal is currently at tender stage and incorporates guidance from the Department of Environment “Design Manual for Urban Roads and Streets”.  Specifically the Landscape Architectural input was to devise a strategy for soft landscape elements to mark the specific zones within the village and to encourage vehicles to reduce their speed as they approach the village centre.

Seating, planting and the retention of existing streetscape elements were part of the final design, as well as a technical package of drawings to facilitate installation of the design.
